40 years old isn't life!

The scumbag Sean Mercer, who shot 11 year old Rhys Jones, will be out of prison by the time he is 40. How can that be considered a life sentence? Lots of men father children after that age, which is something that this piece of sh*t definitely shouldn't ever be allowed to do.

It is high time that the legal system was changed, from minimum tariff to minimum release age, to take account of the young age of so many of the criminals in our society. Sixty five, with no pension rights, sounds about right to me.

Better still, give us a government with the bottle to string the little sods up.

PS. Seven years is nowhere near enough for his fellow gang members, who protected someone who they knew had murdered a little kid in cold blood. Maybe if they'd got twenty years the investigation wouldn't take so long next time - and there will be a "next time".

I saw this on the news, as they announced it today. The worst thing is, he has shown no remorse whatsoever since he murdered that child.

The sentence was for AT LEAST 22 years.

Ho could and should stay in prison for the rest of his life.

The reality of 22yrs to the gang members still haunting society is nothing, zero rated, however if he was topped I would guess a few pennies would drop and being a gang member would not be so appealing. And the other little snots who assisted him should be lashed as well as imprisoned, again few more pennies would drop.

Does the punishment fit the crime is not really the question, the question is will the punishment stop other little snots from following on and the answer to that is no.

22 years minimum is not a light sentence, it clearly is a deterrent to others that guns on our streets are unacceptable along with knives.

Bear in mind this was not a premeditated murder, there have been lighter sentences passed down where the circumstances have been even more grotesque.

No he will think he is a bloody hero and most probably be treated like one inside, the great gunman. Crap like that should be strung up.

Don't be daft, :( he will not be treated like a hero inside, he will be given a hard time for killing a kid, perhaps his youth might save him even more punishment.

Stringing him up? Consigned to history, and probably that's where it will stay

The three year asbo he got certainly was no deterrent, if he recieved a 'proper' sentence for terrorising the community the kid would proberbly still be alive. Don't suppose the rest of the 'gang' as well as this ferral sn@t bag did a days work in their lives. Lock them up for life or the other choice capital punishment and let them choose. How can the weak sentence recieved be a deterrent when you hear cases like this constantly.

Carrying a knife, yer right, asbo or less for that one. Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime. For that all of this current government should be locked up. Weak, lililivered and no idea of the real world springs to mind.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
