Float fishing & Big fish

A good starting point would be one of the Drennan Tench float rods these have all the power you will need without being overbearing.

Another choice is the Preston's Carbonactive Sentinent Power float rod it's a tad gentle in the tip so striking at range needs to be a positive affair but it gives you some fun with smaller fish and has a lovely smooth power curve down the blank and will stop most things that swim.

Most firms do a powerfloat rod or Big Fish rod in their range however some of them can be a tad over powerful and heavy.

One to be careful of is the JW Youngs power float trotting rod as with all the rods in this series there are issues with the reel seats hence they are being offloaded on e-bay you have been warned!

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical

minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which

holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd

by the clean end"
