Can someone recommend a 2-6lb Sinking line?

I like to use a light setup for my float fishing but I am having trouble with my line sinking.

I know that I can run the line through a washing up liquid soaked cloth or soak the spool in washing up liguid overnight but I am quite a forgetful person...and also lazy!

Can someone recommend a good line, from 2lb up to 6lb for me to buy? I just want the damn thing to sink all the time without me having to do anything about it. Is there a particular make, manufacturer or design?

Thanks.

If you want a heavy line you could try a flourocarbon mainline. I don't like them, but you might get on with them. As Dave says, all 'sinking' monos will need a little help getting through the surface, especially on calm days.

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

I asked a similar question recently & got advised by "Steve Burke" that Pro-Gold is very good sinking but not that easy to find.

I found some at Birmingham Angling Centre on 0121 373 6627. They are Gold Label Tackles' retail outlet & stock the full range of line in Pro Gold including

100mtr spools from £5.95

500mtr spools from £9.95

1000mtr spools from £14.50

Breaking strains stocked from 2.5lb & upwards

Just ordered 500mtr of 4.4lb (wet knot strength) in Pro-Gold to give a try on my wagggler & ledger rods
