Hi All

 

I just stumbled upon this cute browser based role playing game by the name of Travian. It is free to play but you need to register. I've only been playing for a day or so but it is worth checking out. If you don't like it you can delete your account at any time. You can click on this link to register and give it a go.

I can see that one of you has signed up and gave himself or herself a handle of gink. This is a really good 'little' MMOG with lots of depth to the gameplay. There are still loads of places on the server. Click here to register and have a go. If we can get enough players to join up and play (it will only take a few minutes a day to play) we could start our own AnglersNet Alliance

Gink is doing well, his population is up to 65, he'll be catching me up soon. Is anyone any good at killing rats?

The other user is me, but after having spent 30 minutes trying to long on, and receiving two new passwords, neither of which worked, I think I've lost patience, good luck to the rest of you!

I won't be logging on - too many things to do!

 

However, I could have done with something challenging on the flight back from Texas last night.

 

We flew in a new 777 with state of the art boardgames built into the back of each seat.

 

Unfortunately their computerised chess game seems to have been downgraded - it usually takes me half an hour to beat the computer set on "medium" and a full hour if set on "hard".

 

The level of the medium game is now such that the computer can be beaten in ten minutes - after winning seventeen games in a row I got bored.

 

Why not try the "hard" setting, I hear you ask.

 

I did.

 

The computer took ten minutes to respond to P-Q4

 

Then I offered the QBP ("Queens Gambit") and twenty minutes later the computer was still undecided as to whether to take the offered pawn or not!

 

Life is too short, even when trying to kill time on an intercontinental flight, so I gave up and read a book instead
