I`ve been fishing for the past 45 years, and the best bag I ever caught was some 16 years ago in Cumbria.........................but I married this one.

Here in Yorkshire at the right time of year the bags shoal up just offshore. A great evenings sport can often be had from the piers at Whitby in late August.

However the once Populer Tampax and durex which were available in abundance have all but dissapeared since the arrival of the new sewer system. What a bugger.

My PB bag was a bin liner - round the prop! Not many fish can stop a boat like a bag can. Never underestimate them....

Had a Co-op bag when spinning for sea trout with light gear a couple of months ago, what a struggle getting it in!

Also have landed a condom (spinning), big stone (on the drift), and a frying pan (on the drift for rays).

Bags are regional as well, Morrisons bags are plentiful here in Dorset with the odd Somerfield bag taken on a bank holiday.

I've heard rumours of a Kwik Save bag being taken along Chesil, but I've got my suspicions it was really an Aldi bag instead.

Do Morrisons bags die if you touch them with your hands & release them ? I usually shake mine off the hook ...

Lets not forget that frequent summer visitor the Lidl's bag. Now theres a quality bag, can't resist a whole squid on a pennel, had one a while back at a secret location off the dorset coast (i'm not telling you where either MJB)

Still gets the old adrenalin going when I think about it. Happy days

sanctuary:

I'm still trying to catch my First M&S bag any tips?

Whilst the M&S bag is considered a 'posher' catch, you've got to understand that it is generally found around older fish (well, at least they smell that way).

Try using one of those fiddly new 5p's as bait, or shout, "Kids had more respect in my day." as you cast out.
