Yep, I did all my lessons in a B.S.M. Mini and come the day of the test my instructors car failed and I had to do a familiarisation lesson and then the test in the brand new, newly delivered Mini Metro - horrid, horrid car. Bought myself a MkIII Cortina then.

i passed in a mark two escort in november 1981 in Grays in Essex, it was not my first attempt and i had given up an bought a motor bike before that. still despite driving being the second most expensive indulgence i have partaken in since then (the first being various women who have come into my life, fleeced me rotten, and then left) driving has opened up doors to me that would have other wise been closed. That is why i hate these car hating policies perpetrated by our Government and Local Councils. The motor car has been the great liberator of the working classes and we forget that at our peril.

45 years ago last week in Chelmsford.

December 24th 1965 in a red mini

My first car was a Morris Minor 1000 which I wrote off in a ditch. (£35.00 worth of damage so uneconomical repair)

A Honda Civic on 17 July 1992. The first car I drove afterwards was a BMW 530 belonging to my boss and which he wanted looking after whilst he was in New York.

Never been so scared in my life. My first car arrived 3 weeks later, a 1.8 Vauxhall cavalier. In the first year of having a full licence, I drove over 32,000 miles on business.

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine
