Ohh woe is me ......the weather has been fantastic here, very little wind and calm seas.

went out on Sat evening......not one fish,..went out on Sun morn, at 6.30 am till 12.00..........

one bloody Pollock , there was a lot of boats around, spoke to a few of them, all the same.....no fish, and they had live eel.

I think those spearfisherman did a better job than we thought .

Im glad I didnt have an exceptional day though,

what with Al being away this weekend, he would never believe me.

How did you get on marv, did Rich beat the pants off you ??

Hi Starvin,

 

Didnt take the fly rod in the end

Im going to try a 9 wieght shooting head line,

what do you think, please say yes cos Ive already bought it .

Either way, itll be a bit of fun.

I was out the back practiceing the cast with it and managed to snap the rod, top section worked its way out of the ferrel.

Sciera Blue water rod, not that keen on it now:(

They did send me a new bottom section though, good on them.

Yakity...I snapped a top section on my Scierra Blue Water!

 

Now I check the joints like it's going out of fashion!!!...casting the big lines does tend to work things loose after a while...especially with a little of my over excited poor technique thrown in!!!

Tried out one of Artfulfishers Airflo Forty+ on my 8 weight and it flies.

 

Shot my top section off my 5 weight whilst fishing with Artfulfisher in Wales, luckily nothing broke, having the rod in 2 pieces seem to help with the presentation of the fly!

 

Like Artfulfisher says, keep checking the joints the weight of the flies and line that you are using are a hell of a strain on the fittings.

 

Managed to get hold of a set of Fulling Mill Saltwater Bass flies at the weekend, been looking everywhere for them, I believe they are a pattern tied and used in Cornwall.

 

Flush mount article is nearly complete, should have it uploaded Wednesday night.

Chuffed you got your flies Marvin,......in Cornwall I believe they use the Pastie Petite Pulsator, heavy little number but beutifully made

Arrrrgh the joys of fishing.
