Two comments overheard today:

It wasn't his fault - the wall wasn't 10 yards back! To which I replied 'This season it wouldn't matter how far back it was, he can't aviod hitting it.'

He isn't making much of an impression this season!

This is a signature, there are many signatures like it but this one is mine

I thought he made quite an impression on the tunnel, looking at the wreckage of his car.

Perhaps he thought he was in Monaco, pressed the loud pedal and was listening to the wail of that engine when he hit some ice, so easily done in one's supercar when one is distracted.

A tad cruel Andrew, I think to wreck the car and escape unharmed is a much nicer way then closing the road to commuters whilst the plod crawl on their hands and knees for a day or so looking for a reason to explain a fatal accident don't you?

I think he is very lucky to have walked away from that wreckage.

Or maybe, just maybe, the nearside front wheel came adrift?

We must wait and see.

Or a puncture

I remember driving behind an L driver who suddenly turned sharply right.

"I didn't realise there was a driveway just there" I thought,

The L driver hit an earth bank - smashed in his right front wing.

"No, there isn't"

It was down to a tyre burst. At least there was a happy ending. Neither the driver nor his passenger were injured, and my "To whom it may concern" letter resulted in a full payout from his insurance.
