This is interesting.

"In the meantime information has been leaked on the internet of the sums of money the new Angling Trust will be paying 22 full-time and part-time employees during its inaugural year.

It is a staggering £525,000 on a projected income of around £1.2 million if the facts on the website are correct.

When anglers requested the Trust to elaborate further and produce a breakdown of the payroll structure, the top man Mark Lloyd said details were confidential.

Lloyd needs more than 200,000 keen anglers to fork out £20 per head per annum during a recession to get his Trust up and running."

If that report is true, who are all these employees? And what do they do?

Unlike the NFA and NFSA which went before, ultimately the AT will be staffed by dedicated professionals rather than enthusiastic amateurs; people hired for their skills rather than the ability to put up their hand at the AGM. They will be answerable to a board of directors, because this is an articled company and that board will be answerable to the shareholders who, of course are the members.

But who are they? And what is their expertise?

I wasn't aware that we had any professional representatives? What are their qualifications? Do they have any past successes?

So many questions, so few answers.

I think the key word in what Keith says is "ultimately". At the moment, as far as I can tell, the people working for this new company are the "enthusiastic amateurs" that Keith refers to. He's suggesting that they will be replaced, I think.

I think I stumbled across the source of these figures:

I don't understand Steve's negativity which has been pointed out on more than one forum.

Give 'em a chance.

I've joined loadsa clubs for a season and then found they weren't what I was looking for ... then you bail out.

Suck it and see ...

it's all we've got!

Otherwise it's Steve and Ronnie's :wheelchair: opinions ....

and they're strongly felt, but useless in the real world.

I won't buy that!

Come on then, O wise one. Answer me this. If the Angling Trust are going to be fighting a campaign to resists the EU proposals as outlined in Article 47, like they say they are, why are they supporting the Cefas study into anglers' catches that will, in my opinion, make it all possible?

Call me negative if you like, but with contradictions in policy like that, I'm finding it hard to be positive.

As for your contribution, "suck it and see" is hardly constructive, is it? I would hope for more from anglings' one and only representative body.

Quote Keith Arthur's post in angling times this week, again: 'it is beyond doubt that in the near future british sea anglers will need to be registered or licenced and once that occurs bag limits will be imposed.........................

don't look like fighting 47 to me. Looks like complete surrender. And as HA has said, it's all we've got. Errr sh!t.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..
