I have a automatic rewind fly reel. I believe it was made by Mitchell, possibly a 710 or 810???? It has " france" on the underside of its foot, and a fish motif on the centre of the reel. It works by turning the body of the reel to wind up a spring, then a small lever under your forefinger area can be pulled to rapidly rewind all of your loose coils of flyline back onto the spool.

Can anyone confirm or identify this particular reel, or provide any other information on it??

That certainly sounds like a mitchell, never had one myself, but my mate Dave Barker used to have one, and knowing how tight he is he's probably still got it!! I will have a word with him about it as he used it a lot and to great effect when a high speed retreive was called for.

Almost certainly a Mitchell 710. I had a couple, but got rid of them some years ago.
