Game Fishing Report Dated May 22nd, 2001

Cold weather conditions midweek ruined mayfly fishing on many of our waters but there was a significant recovery over the weekend. At the time of writing weather conditions have significantly improved and temperatures are now back up into the mid 20’s once again. With calm very warm weather forecast up to Friday, this should provide suitable angling conditions for late evening spent gnat and buzzer fishing.

Angling Highlights

Trout to 6lbs + from Lough Sheelin

Lough Derg fishing very well at Killaloe, mayfly season in full swing there, good prospects for late evening gnat fishing.

Lough Ennell slow but at the time of writing prospects look good, get a supply of buzzers and spent gnat is the advice to go after those elusive wild Lough Ennell trout
