I've got a book 'Fifty Years on the Test' by C.Ernest Pain that is packed with information about the Test

 

Only problem is, it was published in 1934, and I think it's a bit out of date now!

If he's based in Stockbridge then there is a pub about half way up the High St. opposite the Orvis shop, that sells day tickets for the river.

 

Your other choice is to go into the Orvis shop and ask them for the phone number for Robin Gow who is their (Orvis) fishing manager/instructor/tutor.

He is a very helpful chap indeed.

Tell him 'The Beast' sends his regards and he should see you alright.
