I have fished estuarial salt water with a fly rod, mainly in USA.

Has anyone bought specialist sea water fly gear?

What does it consist of different from standard freshwater kit.

I have caught cod on feathered lures, but I would call that "feathering" not fly fishing,am I right?

I fly.fish the sea quite a lot. One may use "standard" gear. The only proviso is that the fittings, rings etc should be saltwater-proof. I use a 9´6" #8 wt for seatrout, cod, mackerel etc. Natural imitationm flies are used ( not "feathers" ), such as shrimps, etc.

"Feathering" is done with a trace of feathers or other similar lures, attached to a weight, which is fished sink and draw. This is not fly-fishing.
