Some cast most efficiently, and some cast with more style,

and some can´t cast at all of course, which makes the others smile.

Be careful though, when you are asked, to give such folk advice,

the results may be astounding, and in fact not very nice.

 

All are convinced that they are good, and that they cast quite well,

and as only fish are usually witnesses, they are not inclined to tell.

Very odd sometimes of course, that those who often cannot cast,

say catching fish is not everything, and live mostly in the past.

 

As they very rarely catch a fish, they need more explanations,

why casting is not important, just adds to one´s frustrations.

The birds, the trees, and nature too, are the reasons why they angle,

and they never seem to worry much, when their leaders tangle.

 

Even the lousiest angler, will catch fish with enough persistence,

but he might find it easier, if he could cast a bit more distance.

So be careful when you criticise, there may be very bad results,

you may find that some anglers then are more like children than adults.

 

If you can cast, be grateful, be justly proud of such a useful skill,

let others cast in their own way. and otherwise have their will.

Worry not when others criticise your rod or casts or even flies,

you know why you fish this way, so be silent sure and wise.

 

Remember fishing is an art, and not worth useless fratching,

if everyone caught fish all the time, it would be known as catching!

This is not a competition, it is mainly just a way of having fun,

of course if you get more enjoyment, you may still have won !
