Want to re-stock different species

Well, pike and grayling certainly like the same conditions. Perch enjoy cold.

In that case though, probably be a real good idea to add something they all like to eat else they will just eat each other.

Don't know about Grayling Newt, they should be in running water really.

What sort of size are the trout?

Is it going to stay as a trout fishery or are you trying to get rid of them, the Pike will certainly do that for you.

Are you trying to change it to a course lake?

If this is a trout fishery why change it.

Sorry to be a bit on the negative side but what are you looking for in the fishery?

Dave

Agree. So should the trout I think. They certainly fight much better from there. For that matter, so do carp. :D

I don;t want to get rid of the trout, i enjoy fishing for them, they range from 1/2 to nearly 5lbs, I am just looking to add some variety of species, the lake is private, and only used by me and friends, i just want to be able to catch different species, and i want to know what fish will mix happily with trout.

I live in south wales if that is of any importance.

Don't know about the UK but in the US, the government fisheries department in the area will take a look and offer suggestions based on location, conditions of the lake, etc.

Would the EA offer the same service?

I have fished trout still waters that have had a healthy stock of tench, roach, carp and bream.

No "predator" species though.

There was one interesting and significant fact about this water for you to consider.

With other baits going in to the fishery, the trout were almost uncatchable on flies.

I suspect you can have a good "either", but not a good "both".
