Patrick Arnold wins Award

Angling Reporter from the Lake District, Patrick Arnold, won the Angling Writers' Association Local Newspaper Column Runner-up Award. In the words of the Judge "the Runner-up provides a very good service for his area, covering all aspects with equal facility". The Judge was very impressed by his wide coverage, "just what a Local Angler needs", he said.

Patrick won his award for his fortnightly Angling Column in the Westmorland Gazette written under his non de plume 'Buzzer'.

 

He was presented with his Award by Association Chairman, Keith Elliott, at the Annual Dinner and Prize-giving held this year at the Kincora Hall Hotel in Killaloe, County Clare, Ireland - a trip generously sponsored by Irish Ferries and Shannon Development.

 

Patrick also writes regular features for Angling News website - 'Angling in the Lake District' and most Waters are covered individually under Lakes and Rivers for The Borders, Cumbria, North Lancashire and West Yorkshire. His features also appear in the monthly magazine Northern Game Angler. Patrick is also Angling Correspondent for BBC Radio Cumbria.
