I'd suggest you find a local venue that does fly casting lessons, take a lesson and ask the coach what he recommends. He'll know the area and probably the venues you'll be fishing so will be able to give good advice. You'll also find out if fluff chucking is something you'll want to do before you splash the cash on tackle.

Go to a reputable tackle shop and he will kit u out with suitable tackle for the local waters. Tell him where u intend to fish. You need different tackle for different waters i.e. lakes, small still-waters or rivers.The tackle shop will also make sure your tackle is balanced. They should know what is best suited to your needs and can work to your budget as many even have a range of 2nd hand rods & reels.
