Just got the prices for the King's Angling banksticks I use and recommend off Invicta Tackle. For my field test go to http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/Tackle-And-Bai...banksticks.html

approx 42inch (105cm) £14.99

approx 30inch (75cm) £13.99

I recommend one 42in and one 30in per rod.

These will be on the Invicta Tackle web site shortly. Go to http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/invicta/index.html Otherwise just phone the shop on 01233-661770 and the owner Tim Barnes, who's a Wingham member, will bring them over so saving you postage.

They also do cheaper ones from Korum for £9.99 and £8.99 for roughly the same size. However they're not a patch on the King's Angling ones. I've had mine 5 years, and although aluminium are as straight as the day I bought them!

Don't buy them from Tim.....he'll get rich, retire and spend all of his life catching all the carp from Wingham.

He's already mastered the catching bit, mind you :D

I met Tim briefly a little while back. Seems like a really nice bloke, a very keen (and competent!) angler and FAR too young to be running a tackle shop! There's a law somewhere that states that you're supposed to be 55+ :D

Thankfully it's too far ahead to accurately predict as the forecast I've seen is strong NE winds and cold. In other words the kiss of death!

It's interesting that whenever the wind has been NE this week the fishing has died, otherwise it's not been too bad.

For instance Head Bailiff Terry has just had 17 tench over three days to 9-10. Almost all came early morning when there was no wind. As soon as the NE wind got up the bites stopped.

I think it's fair to say that, whatever the forecast says, it will be windy and it will rain at some point!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

I'll be bringing at least 4, hopefully 6, long bobbins, which people are free to borrow. Find me in the clubhouse on Saturday morning.

Five days!!

Metcheck is still saying north-easterlies for all three days, let's hope that changes nearer the time...otherwise we may only catch a few giant fish
