Cars sliding all over the place already outside tonight, god knows what it'll be like in the morning.

Up to 3" outside, and still falling, woohoo. I'll be doing my best Pennti impression tomorrow morning, I'll have to type up some 'pace notes' for the missus to shout out!

Norrie recall proper winters back in the 1950/60s real snow a foot deep! We all coped then mate.Must be a Health and Safety thing now

I cannot believe the garbage they chuck out these days! All schools are closed due to this unpresidented snowfall ie 2" of the stuff. I do dispair at times. The latest one is "wet snow" :bigemo_harabe_net-163: :bigemo_harabe_net-163:

Oh well thats me offfski before I get MODERATED but am I right though?

ps just checked the forecast again, there may be 3" of snow now. The tree huggers were right - its another ICE AGE

It was nice knowing you all :bye2:

Well it has been cold in Southampton all day, bitterly so. It was trying hard to snow all day but did not come to much. I got in at midnight and there was still nothing. Now it is chucking it down, I almost feel at home. Because the ground is so dry it is lying well at the moment. If we have a few days of this the south east will grind to a halt methinks.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

Agreed

Just wait to the teachers wake up and see some snow on their wind shields, just the trigger for a day off.

Way back, in Bristol we went SIX WEEKS with frozen pipes and had to walk to school, so did the teachers, it was great fun. Every driver worth his salt fitted chains, I think Dad really enjoyed that bit. No women drivers in those days so no problems on the roads and tea trays for sledges
