Ed, is there anywhere you can try the rod before you buy it.

Also depends on how seriously you are going to be at fluff chucking.

I would expect the line to come off the reel in great coils like a spring and the rod to feel like a telegraph pole,lol.

If this is only going to be now and again then only you can tell if it is what you want,

I bought a cheap outfit (150£) to start but as soon as I felt a better quality rod and line well it now gathers dust in a mates spare room.

I wen't down to my local tackle shop instead and the owner (friend of mine) set me up with all the kit i need. I have been practicing with the rod and it is very light and a joy to use. The only thing im unhappy about is the colour of the line! :D
