Saltwater Flies

My wife ties various Crazy Charlie patterns we use for UK saltwater (Size 6 through 2). Also a good sandeel imitation is the Surf Candy (Size 2 through 04). Of these I have first hand experience. If you are after bass etc then large Pike flies should work, but I have not tried it yet. Also the green streamers and nobblers etc the rainbow boys use should catch, especially green ones. You can also get quite sophisticated crab patters and such like. I have not tried these either.

I have tried Swimming frogs and Mouserats for pike and they work, these would I expect make good attractor patterns for sea fish also.

I suggest pattern is not that important, but a quick dip of the fly in pilchard oil probably worth trying if it does not offend your sensibilities too much.
