How low can you go?

It arrived this morning.... £53 duty to pay. :eek wasn't counting on the £8 Parcel Force handling charge, cheeky blighters.

Going to have to wait until I get home to have a peep, will keep you posted.

Haven't decided on the Recoil rings yet, going to see how the 2wt turns out, if I'm happy then I'll send for a set, if not I'll use the Titanium set that was supplied free with the blank. Was going to order them in the UK but they don't do the Saltwater versions.

My lad had another casting lesson at the weekend, they had a rod specifically built for his height, had a long fighting butt and he was taught double handed, he was shooting the line really well... better than his dad :D

Unwrapped it all last night, very pleased, the knotty burl handles are beautiful, mind you the handle supplied with the 2wt was really high grade, the Full Wells was not so good so glad I purchased the knotty burl.

The 2wt blank looks very nice, only time will tell.

Think I'll definitely go for the Recoils, just think they will look nicer than the free tungsten ones, all the glues supplied with the 2wt were flexcoat with more than enough to do both rods.

All in all I'm a happy bunny, can't wait to get started.

Good luck with it.

By coincidence I got a new blank from the states this morning, another 3 wt, so that's my next couple of evenings taken care of.

I recently finished a 7wt on a cheap American Tackle blank and test cast it yesterday for the first time.

Used a Fenwick Techna Windcutter line from here

http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Footworks-uk_W0QQ...storeviewQQtZkm

Two false casts, one double haul and the whole fly line through the rings :) Don't know if its the rod or the line (or maybe the caster? - be quiet Doyle) but they are both good value. Recommend the line.

Now all you have to do is find a 2wt line to go with the new rod

Cheers

Dave

Tell her that without being able to keep your mind busy with the rods, your mind may turn to other pastimes such as drink and sex clubs. :D

Started the 2 wt last night, trying not to rush it, will post some pictures when I'm done, how about posting a few of your works of art, give me something to aim for.

What do you mean "may" :D

I will post some photos once I've worked out how to resize them. My Adobe Photoshop seems to be having problems
