Angling books for schools

When I was speaking to Les Webber tonight to confirm the dates for the pike fish-in he asked if I could make a request on his behalf.

As most of you know Les has got angling lessons into schools, this is taking off with more & more schools wanting to take part. One of Les' aims is to give each school books on fishing, this he has achieved through donations of books from some of the top anglers/writers.

What he is after now is some books aimed at 8/9 yr olds. Something like Mr Crabtree or the old Angling Times books that are like strip cartoons. Something this age group can read and understand.

I have sorted through my book shelf and found a few which I will take up when we go pike fishing.

He does realise that some of these books may be worth something but if you would like to donate them he would really appreciate it.

Just think your book will benefit young anglers for years to come.

If any of you do have any books suitable then let me know and I will send you Les' contact details.

Thanks from Les in advance and me.

Lyn, I've just given a batch of fishing books to a good cause. I do this roughly once a year, usually taking them to one of our local charity bookshops. If there's anything suitable next time I'll be sure to put them to one side for Les.
