A Mild Week

Both fish were practically uncontrollable in a very fast river - especially with those huge dorsals erect. Had to walk down to them and get below them to land - and once ashore the fun began!!!

It can make grayling trotting a bit of a game sometimes. I tend to use old three piece rods of 9-10' on the small river I fish. Whole cane butt and middle sections and greenheart tips. You get the casting action but added rigidity over a split cane tip for landing bigger fish (although my PB is 'only' 2lb 1oz on my avatar). I do fear for the tip section sometimes so I am now planning a 9 footer based on the top two sections of an old salmon fly rod!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!
