Does any one know of a really free winzip download.

all the one i have looked at all want me to buy something else and then get winzip free.

I have done a search on this forum and even the 7-zip which is supposedly free i have to make so many SMSs.

Looked at vista forums and a mod reckomends this (http://www.ultimatezip.com/) as free but again i have to buy something else.

Cheers Fred

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

7-Zip is open source, 100% free. Download it from here.

Thanks guys for the quick responses.

Ok Guys i have now got winzip & coffee cup for starters.

Now i have a tutorial disc that i got with a magazine.

When i open the disc i get a page with 4 dropdown sections all covering different points.

When i click on a heading another window opens covering that section, when i click on open folder another window opens with two files!!.

one of these will open with winzip and it is a picture of what the tutorial is about. the other is a file that will not open called DS-Store and is only 6kbs

MY problem now is how do i get to read the tutorial, not much good having the pic without the instructions..

Am I the problem or what.

I'd need the disc to tell you for sure. The DS-Store file is a system file used by MAC OS X.

Tell me more about what you are trying to achieve mate. What disk is it that you are having problems with?

Ok here goes, the winzip and coffee cup work fine, they open the disc which i was unable to do before.

corydoras asked what am i trying to do so i sat down and thought ok what am i trying to do.

Answer i am trying to learn how to use photoshop. the disc came with a magazine---I read the disc label again and again ---then it clicked ( what a dickhead i am ) the disc label says

all the files you need to work along with the tutorials in this Book

stupid me thought the instructions would be on the disc as i've had the mag for a while but the disc and mag are kept in there own spots never the two to meet. until now.

Only the pictures are on the disc. Derrrr (dickhead )

So the info you all offered did work fine ( if i get a bill for winzip its yours jeepster ) and if we ever meet ayjay i will buy you a coffeee. cory Thanks for the pointer.

Eternaly and greatfully yours Richard Cranium. AKA Fred

No sweat Clifftop, the question 'What exactly are you trying to achieve?' is one that a lot of dickhead techies like me often forget to ask.

That's how things like this happen ;)
