Red letter day in the Dazler household!

I arranged to go fishing with Dazler today, woke up this AM, feeling a bit ropey & the wind was howling, so I sent him a text suggesting we give it a miss. He replies saying he'd promised to take his son, Ryan, so he still intended going. So, I gets my stuff together & meets Dazler, Ryan & Costers(who occasionally posts hereabouts) at the lake.

The weather improves & before too long young Ryan lands himself his biggest carp, a 9lb mirror, on a whip! Not bad for a 7 year old!

Well done young man!

Not long after, Ryan comes to fetch me & Costers saying his Dad has got a big 'un on - me & Costers nip down the bank & provide all the usual heckling to Darren about how he's milking it playing a little 'un & to stop messing about, but after a decent struggle he slides the net under a chunky mirror. YES, says Dazler, finally broken the 20lb barrier, but he's then dissapointed when Costers sticks it on the scales & it only weighs 19lb - bugger - just missed out again thinks Daz.

So, I spend most of the day trying to catch up on some sleep & decide to head home mid-afternoon because my heart just wasn't in it.

But, a few hours later, I gets a phonecall from an alarmingly over excited Dazler, saying he'd caught - well, I'll let you have a look: -

He's only gone & landed a Catfish that weighed in at a very impressive 42lb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very well done that man & well done to young Ryan also!!!

NICE ONE

Well done lads on catching the carp, it a shame that you didn't broke the 20lb barrier, maybe next time! Also well done on catching the catfish - what a whopper!

Growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional
