Oi!

You'll LOVE the latest product Realtree UK's just sent me. It's stick-on cammo for your face!

Oh yes. There's even a guide showing you which bit goes where. Elton's desperate for a sample!

:D

I still think the silliest things I've seen is Real Tree self adhesive tape and Real Tree patterned boots - a whole lot of use when it's muddy.

OK. So some of the camo items are over the top and some seem just plain silly. But there are times when good camo is the only way to go.

Tape's great for covering banksticks, water bottles and all manner of shiny stuff - sorry Gaffer!

And these boots are the lightest and most comfy I've ever worn. They're warm, too. So, basically - ner, ner, ner-ner-ner to you, Mush. :D

I have already done the boots, why do they need to be camouflaged

Because most people prefer them to be, Tony. I spoke to a retailer at this year's CLA Game Fair who told me that cammo boots out-sell non-cammo versions by quite a margin. Remember, they're made for the shooting market, where cammo counts far more than in fishing.

It's not all practicality by any means - as proven beyond doubt by my Realtree Zippo lighter, Swiss Army knife and two-way radios  - and there's certainly an 'identity' deal going on, here.

Either way, it's a choice thing and surely nothing to get too serious about. I like my Realtree stuff. I enjoy using it and it adds to the overall enjoyment of my fishing and shooting ventures. That's reason enough for me.

I always like to wear green, sombre or 'earthy' tones when I'm fishing. I just feel more comfortable and 'ready'. It's almost a bit like wearing a uniform. Hard to explain!

Of course, if you don't make any noise there's a lot less chance you'll be seen anyway! Perhaps they could make a Realtree dummy so that some anglers could stick it in their mouths and shut up every now and again!

The best time to fish is when you have a chance.

Seems to me there is a real need for a universal camouflage detector  .

Don't expect Realtree to offer one - they are happy that you keep losing your gear and buying new :D

Camo has its place in angling like it or not.

Its the nob heads who sit in realtree clothes (with a camo bivvie etc) behind BRIGHT SHINEY stainless steel, sticks, pods and buzzers that I cant fathom!!!!!!!
