Marmite

Vagabond

Recommended Posts

We had a discussion recently about Marmite on another forum I use, (not about the quality more of a love/hate thing).

Someone said that they put Marmite into scrambled eggs; I eat scrambled eggs probably at least four mornings a week so thought I'd try it as a change from my usual additions of smoked salmon or cheese and chives.

Gastronomically it was O.K. but nothing special, from a visual perspective however it was just like babies nappy on toast and I shan't be repeating the experiment. :nonono:

Yeast products have been successful fish catchers for years, bread still works pretty well, and does anyone else remember PYM?

Do I remember PYM? Yes, and still use it :) It is also very nice sprinkled on salads.

Marmite XO is the answer Vagabond. It disappeared from the shelves for a while, but I spotted some again recently and bought a couple of jars, when you taste it, you realise how weak ordinary Marmite has become, it just tastes like Marmite always did.

Curly wurleys used to be bigger and made from proper toffee!

Wagon wheels where a lot bigger.

Dead right mate - Aero's!! Why give chocolate (or peppermint/orange filling) away when you can sell Air Bubbles.

Wagon wheels needed at least 2 strapping lads to carry one out of the Tuck shop.

I still get Fry's chocolate & peppermint cream bars & still seem to be the same as I remember "Seven Pieces Of Heaven".

(Yes I've just opened one to be sure - there's still 7)

"Invalid Toffee" - What was that about??
