Just noticed this on Gaffer's website...pukka idea, Gaff!!

 

So, what have you all forgotten in the past?

My biggest omission was some bait. I drove about 50 miles to the lake for the start of the season and when setting up realised the bait was still in a cooler on the floor. I had to drive home (through rush hour traffic) and pick it up.

 

I have forgotten my bivvy at least once although I only got a few miles down the road before I remembered.

 

And another one is my sleeping bag. I had to sleep all night on my bedchair in my one piece suit (and it was winter).

i have never forgotten (well in the last ten years) anything ,all tackle is always in the same place in my box ,rods are made up in the holdall ,everthing else is in a carryall ,but oneday (probably now) as i have tempted Grangers Law .....""anything i say ,the opposite happens or nothing at all "".......i will.

Me too but I have forgotten more important things DUE to fishing, like aneversaries, birthdays etc Especially on a 4 day sesh.

Back in the sixties I wasI living in Hampshire and decided to have an all night session at Farnham Lodge in Surrey. Double checked I had everything I needed and off I went. Got to the water about 8pm on a lovely July evening and got set up in my favourite swim. I was the only one there and having cast out both rods, got everything just as I wanted it, sat back in quiet contentment and just knew that I was going to catch. I put a cigarette in my mouth and lazily felt for my lighter. The patting of pockets became more and more frantic and then turned to blind panic as I realized I had forgotten my lighter. I sat there until about 10-30pm by which time the desire for a smoke had turned into an unbearable craving and muttering a few choice words I packed up fishing and headed for home. As I turned into the drive I glance just below the dashboard and my eye caught site of the in-car cigar lighter. Ah well some you win some you lose.

if you meant lodge pond (opposite birdworld) you`d have a few miles to find a shop but the dawn chorus makes up for it
