With the cold and rainy season now starting, this topic has made me very keen to coat pretty much everything I own with waterseal...a waterproof chair would be ace!

 

Can you put in on old wax jackets?

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

I'm not sure what bivvies you guys are proofing, but i wouldnt let Thompson Waterseal anywhere near my Armo. Fabsil Gold is the only product i have confidence in & as is the only one recommended by Trakker & Aqua. £15 for a tin of Fabsil Gold is small price to pay on a £300 bivvy imo.

Have treated plenty of Boat covers ,Tents,Umbrellas with Thompsons no problems but always test a small area and allow it to dry first to check its compatibility with the fabric Steve.

We are not putting it back it is a lump now put that curry down and go and get the scales

have I told you abouit the cruise control on my Volvo ,,,,,,,bla bla bla Barder rod has it come yet?? and don`t even start me on Chris Lythe :bleh::icecream:

Note NO thomsons waterseal can be used on canvas any more the poxy EU VOC laws put paid to it.

if you find an old can make sure it mentions canvas on the tin ;)

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

update i have heard (not seen for myself though) B&Q's "own" sealer is supposed to be OK with canvas ,50% more than the old Thomsons its £15 a shot but far far cheaper than fabsil.

if your tempted (i still have 4 gallons of thomsons left so it will be a while before i need it) make sure it mentions canvas on the tin (its alleged to)

as i haven't tried it i cant say if its any good so its not a recommendation
