Boilie making machine?

Does any one know what machines are used in the manufacturing of boilies?

I have searched the internet for information and have almost drawn a blank.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I use a compressor and baitgun to squeeze ot the sausages and large Gardner rolling tables fixed to boards to roll the bait.

 

Last night I did a 30 egg mix on my own in about an hour. They were 22mm though. obviously smaller baits take a lot longer.

 

not sure what tables they use in the Industry, The shilham one are probably the best, but i've had all kinds of problems finding them. Not sure if they're still manufactred.

 

If someone makkes an alloy one piece table I'd be very interested. the gardner ones come in sections and the top section can get caught on the joins. I've been thinking of doing an article on mass bait making for AnglersNet, as soon as I get some freetime I'll try to start getting it together.

Thanx for the input guys, but we already have compressors, guns and tables. We are looking to release a range of baits early next year and are looking for an automated solution.

We have had a test batch rolled by Mr. Richardson which have come out fine but at (how much!) per Kilo is going to make the bait more expensive than we would like, so if the bait takes off we want to invest an our own machines.

At present we have tracked down a pharmacutrical machine that will roll 100 Kilos an hour, but we would still like to know what else is available.

I think the answer is almost nothing. The pahrmaceutical machine is possibly more like a press (?). Even the large bait companies pool their resources to roll bait as there are very few (& expensive) machines available.

 

I do know someone who now rolls bait who made his own machine but he wouldn't make it available commercially.

I did see a PASTA machine used to make boilies, well at least the sausage part, you still have to roll them out though.

i actually designed one in my head. It just need a windmill to get it working At least it's friendly to the environment

 

Why do they have to be round? Maybe a niche in the market would be to also make them available in odd shapes. I make all my own boilies, and the majority these days are not round. unless I need them to go distances out of a stick or pult.

Definatly the confectionery,petfood, and pharmaceutical industries are the ones to closely scrutinise for custom built machinery.

I`ve heard though that the mix is critical for use in these boilee machines which is probably why machine rolled baits tend to be more of a 50/50 nature.

Rather than looking to buy equipment it may be better off looking for a company that does it as a service. I could see one problem on the horizon though - are a pharmacutical or food company going to be willing to process fish-food - could invalidate health licences etc.
