I've just returned from Cyprus and did a lot of snorkelling, a couple of snorkellers passed by me with spear guns at the ready was i worried?, i'd have been a lot more worried if my kids had been in the water with me.

Wouldnt mind but the biggest fish i saw was about 6" long.

i can remember fishing the river otter, in east devon a few years ago. along came a middle aged guy with one of those bows.he was loosing off arrows all over the shop trying to hit the mullet and trout which were present.i wouldnt have minded so much, but he was standing on the public footpath which runs alongside the river, to do so,totally oblivious to the numerous people walking by!

your all forgetting your eyes anyone actually looking at the bolt tips will notice they are for targets ,they may make a little hole in a fish if it was unlucky enough to swim into the bolts trajectory but nothing that any heron couldnt do ,fishing using one would at least need a barb and a way of retrieving it

most american hunting stuff is barbaric ,take "blow up a critter" or i saw a clip featuring a sheep tied to a post still alive but with a dozen or so arrows through it  they are blood crazy unfortunatly they tend to cry foul when their the prey as most bullies do :(

fail to see the atraction of killing an animal at a mile or so away with a high powered rifle (scottish stalking included) or closer with an arrow ,lets see the real men fighting bears with tooth and claw ,i dont think they will be so fast in getting out their trucks and heading for the woods :D

They might have 'blow up a critter' in America Chesters, but do they have dwarf tossing competitions like we do here in England? There has been talk of banning dwarf tossing but I'm reliably informed that most dwarfs actually enjoy it!
