They may be wild, but they also seem very tame to come down and take food like that!

 

I've been feeding a friendly robin for the past few months, and although he keeps getting closer and closer, I still haven't managed to tempt him into sitting on my hand..he does pinch maggots at every opportunity though!

The odd thing about the lorikeets is that if there is no food they are very flighty. At 3.30 every aftrnoon, they congregate in the garden trees, waiting to be fed. Have had upwards of 60 at one "sitting"

Tried to get a photo of a Corncrake, but no joy.

There are 2 or 3 in the area at present and heard them calling for the first time this year yesterday afternoon.
