How about Pompey Dockyard?? Must have a gallon or two from the Ark?? And all the pilings they replace??

Could try a guy called Brian Rix over at Gosport. He is a joiner i once knew and worked quite a bit with Oak?? Number will be in book. Lots of sawmills around New Forest too??

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Call me flash if you like, but I bought a bag of the clean stuff from the same shop that sold me the smoker. You use so little each smoking that a £3 bag lasts for ages. I hot smoke about a dozen mackeral at a time, and use about three tablespoons of oak dust. Any more and the oaky smoke is overpowering and taints the fish rather than enhancing the flavour. (Mine's an Abu smoker - tin box type)

Hi Nev, the FPO bought mine fro me for Christmas, it`s a Hardy (now who`s flash :D ) same as the ABU one though. Trouble is she cannot remember which site it came from.

Where did you get yours ??

Are the chips the same as dust?

I used a couple of table spoons in mine and it was just about right for me as I don`t like it too smokey.

Just wanted to stock up to take it to Cornwall later this month and do some Fresh Mackerel.
