A great inspiration in the early days. I loved reading his books, not just on fishing but on country living.

RIP Fred

Sad, sad news.

Fred J was one of the main inspirations in my early angling years.

One of the few that could convey the 'magic' of those times.

RIP Fred J Taylor MBE

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

Younger members may not know, but Fred J. was an inspiration to a whole generation of anglers. I learnt an awful lot from his instructional writing, and was always entertained by his stories.

Unfortunately I met Fred only twice, both at charity events, including one of his famous sheep roasts.

Fred truly was one of the greats, and will really be missed.

My condolences to all the family.
