I took this on holiday with Tony in the Sierra Grazelema a week or so back. It kept flying off but i got a oicture when it was sunning itself on a wall.

Here's a recent one of mine, praticing a new technigue so not composed especially well.

Take some on roundabouts when cars are indicating.

 

 

Tell you another trick to try.

When it's thundering and lightening leave the shutter open while lightening strikes.

Make sure you are some place very dark though.

Oh and use a tripod.;)

The results will suprise ya.:)

Yup your right using bulb setting (if you have one) you can leave the shutter open to capture lightning and fireworks, especially if you use it in conjunction with a black cloth carefully placed over the camera. And a tripod is a must for any exposure of (i think) 1 second or longer (the above shot was 20 seconds!)

 

I think I would need to get above a roundabout, say on a footbridge to do that shot as the oncoming headlights at street level would prob blow the exposure. I have been out today scouting a location for later in the week that should do this technique full justice and I think I have found a good one so watch this space.

 

BTW..there is a new photography programme starting on discovery realtime Monday at 8.30pm, first episode is landscape photography.
