Any mackeral yet?

The sunshine's here, but are the mackeral yet in any numbers?

They normally take a while to get up to where I am (Sussex), anyone catching them elsewhere yet?

Caught some good size ones at Stackpole in Pembrokeshire on the weekend. They are starting to come in from the shore as well.

We had mackys and garfish off Seaford over weekend.

Plenty down here in Jersey could have fished all day and drained the sea of Mackeral but I'm not like that, one full house and thats me ready for some serious fishing and as a backup for dinner, I know it's been done to death but I cant/dont understand the people that go out there and catch hundreds just because they can.

 

Weekend before last I counted 16 yak fisherman in and out of an area no bigger than 30 yards square myself included this and at least another five boats the Mackeral were hammered and I paddled off in disgust at the sheer greed in fact and I know this sounds selfish but yak fishing has become so popular that it's lost it's sparkle it's like the M25 out there now.

they are being caught from the shore in north devon now, the spring tides have brought them in!
