Is this why there were all those stupid flags on people's cars? Perhaps they can all come off now.

English as tuppence, changing yet changeless as canal water, nestling in green nowhere, armoured and effete, bold flag-bearer, lotus-fed Miss Havishambling, opsimath and eremite, feudal, still reactionary, Rawlinson End.

bluezulu:

were not rubbish they were very bloody unlucky

That last goal they gave away was a blunder. Nothing to do with bad luck.

The problem isn't what people don't know, it's what they know that just ain't so.

So this 'brilliant' attacking french team that deserved to win, where abouts were there attacks, all they did was repeatedly cross the ball into our box and we headed it away! Both there goals were from static ball situations, we created as many chances as they did. We played well and our players left the pitch with there heads held high and rightly so, they played well and only lost through bad luck. By far worse was our defeat by the All Blacks, who, much as it pains me to admit it, were awesome!

Don't be down hearted.

Two errors that we were punished for, that's all. We played well throughout. On another day even with those two errors, we would have walked away victorious.

We will still qualify and following the opening game may even face Greece in the Q/F. That means we could optimistically reach the semis and after that a repeat meeting with France in the Final.

Bet they aren't so lucky then!!!

Once we're in the Q/F last night will be but a distant memory.

I thought I saw Beckam holding his head in his hands somwhere or another. 'Bad luck' had nothing to do with, IMO it looked more like pure panic.
