Im not sure if this is in the correct section of the forum, if it isnt, can a moderator please move it :)

Does anyone here fish at the Newland Hall Fishery?

I would like some reviews on this lake, and whether or not it is worth me paying the membership fee and getting access to the Osiers Lake :)

Thanks alot!

I've fished Newlands Hall a few times as a Match Angler and the weights are always big,

I've fished "brook" lake there on a dayticket. Once, and that was more than enough for me!

If you like fishing overstocked and overcrowded waters you'll love it, I prefer a bit more peace and quiet :)

No idea what Oosiers lake is like, never fished that one!

Thanks Peter M :)

I dont suppose you guys can recommend any places near the Southend / Chelmsford area in Essex for me?

I'm looking for a lake with Carp, Tench etc :)

Why don't you consider joining Chelmsford Angling Assocaition, some nice waters of differing types and loads of river chlemer to have a go at. my fav lake on the ticket is broads green as many anglers like to go to the lunker waters and the swims are far apart and tree lined. on the Day ticket side i used to go to the Warren at stanford le hope where you can find some quiet spots although i have not fished it for years. have a look at CAA website here:

I will take a look at the CAA, thanks mate! It looks like a good place to go just by looking on their website.

I might pop down there this afternoon :)

just to let you know on most lakes you won't be able to drive up to the lakes as there are gates that are locked. when you become a memeber you get given the combination so you can open the gate. this does mean that your car is relativly safe in the car parks. the whole streach of the chelmer looks very fishey and i don't really get time to have a go at it much but if you go you can park near the river. the Chelmer is ok for day ticket as well. good luck.

BTW i notice you are in Southend and a good few years ago i used to fish Stambridge lakes and they used to be good and its near you.

take a look at my blog
