its not just the angling papers, its the comics generally.

I also wonder who else is behind this.

How many celebrity angling 'representitives' have been involved in the instigation of this proposal?

Where does the Angling Trust stand on this?

I have this feeling that something is 'not quite right' in all this.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

I agree there. When all that needs to be done is to enforce the current legislation to stop the problem, not to bring in more legislation that could make criminals out of otherwise honest anglers that just want the odd fish for tea.

One could suspect all kinds of things such as bent (as in dishonest) MPs, the influence of huge multi-national companies with a finger in the angling pie, planning permissions for vast developments etc. but I'm sure I can't see any connection......indeed I wouldn't even want to try and infer such a thing.........oh what a tangled web

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

I have e-mailed the Angling Trust to try and find out where they stand on the subject, and the extent of their involvement in it's conception.

Will post the reply when/if I get one. :)

I e-mailed the EA separately and asked why nobody seemed to know about the proposals and consultation. After an automated acknowledgement, Four days later (7th July). I received, "Your enquiry has been forwarded to our Fisheries Policy Team for attention and they will be in touch with you shortly."

Nothing since :(

Apart from Angler's Net posts I have heard nothing about this from anyone!
