Hi Ziggy,

Yep you spotted it! we went to Seatown, had an enormous bagette from the pub (if you spend over a tenner the car park is free anyway) and went for a walk on the beach explored the rock pools, (not much there only a few crabs) got a sample of sea water (see the post on Algae bloom on Sea fishing)then over to Lyme for Tea and a wander over to look in the aquarium. Lovely afternoon, few fishing, no one catching so wasnt too jealous!

Hope to take the boat out for its first trip this weekend.

There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot!

have taken delivery of TEN prawn nets, they are really cool, little zip pockets in top for bait & a zip to get the catch out, well pleased.

will sell 2 to john storey, think fear the hands might be interested in one.

Nothing as impressive as yours Dan, but I found a fossil in my garden today! I am quite excited about it. I had been down to my shed and I had gone barefooted. As I came back to my house something hard stuck to the bottom of my foot. I scraped it off and I thought it was just a piece of gravel or coffee rock. However, when I looked down there was something familiar about the shape. As I was still walking I had passed it by a few metres before I stopped and looked for it. It took me some time, but eventually I spotted it, picked it up and was astonished to discover that it was part of a fossilised shark's tooth. It is incomplete and only 15mm x 10mm - hardly an exciting specimen apart from the fact that I found it in my garden!

Hi Ziggy how big are they? can you weigh them down easily and leave them or are they a bit like drop nets that you need to keep an eye on? Weather not looking very good this weekend but might go for quick sea trials!
