Where to buy a weed rake

I have tried to make one with poor results so I am keen to just buy one that I know will work.

The only place I have found one is on eBay but is is an auction so it could go for any amount.

I have seen another with extending rods but its quite expensive.

Do any suppliers out there manufacture and sell them? I cant say I have ever looked at my local tackle shops for them.

It's not something I have ever seen for sale, I would assume there would be so little demand for them that tackle companies would not make them.

When ever I have seen them in use, they have all looked home made. Maybe some one could give you some tips on constructing one.

Your best making one Fruit. If you do a quick search on here there have been a couple of threads on the subject over the years. Some have instructions on how to make your own.

An alternative is to get a cheap folding anchor and use that. It clears weed ok but doesnt stir up un weeded bottoms so well.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

All I've done and I've had it for years is wire two rake heads back to back and tie a piece of boat rope to it trying to get it all centered up so that when you pull it back the rake comes back fairly straight. Funny you wrote about this, although not used often I will be using the rake in a swim on a lake that is bottom covered in weed.

Can I ask you regular "Rakers" if this would be a good rake head to use if I try to make another one?

Wolf Garden Soil Rake

It looks like it two of these could be fixed quite easily and securly to each other with cable ties and a rope attached to the whole at the end of the handle.

Any rakes"will do" but if your going to go and buy two specificly for making a weed rake then IMO there are far better ones avaiable.Better in both their design and the ease of which you will join them well.

I presume youve not done a search so I will post a link.

I asked about rakes not so long ago and 2 smashing blokes made me rakes and a weed cutter.

They're ideal for my purposes and they'll give you an idea of what you're loking for.

Sorry Fruit Ive just tried a search myself and though several raking threads came up I couldnt find the one I wanted.I was sure that quite recently we had one where some people posted pictures of their homemade rakes?
