Any knee specialists out there

Went over at work last June, waiting until December before the specialist decided it wasn't going to get better on it's own.

Had an MRI scan which proved inconclusive, met the surgeon in April and went on the waiting list for an op.

Still waiting, still don't know exactly what's wrong either

I had a window fall on me and I was miss diagnosed, eventually my knee gave way, I had to wait for months for the first op.

That was in '93, first op was an arthroscopy but that didn't help, Then I had my second op, my kneecap removed, smoothed and cleaned up, replaced. Lateral and medial releases and a tuck in my quad. I was up the next day to get home and ended up in bed for weeks.

It still grinds and pops, and gives me some problems but I just put up with it now.

Hang in there, it will take time but thinks might get better

I've been to Scrabster... and I want to go back!!!

Going Private is a good idea, make sure who ever does the op is a specialist and does lots of them sucessfully. It is no coincidence that professionals go to top surgeons, they get the results, without that you would be wise to give up anything that involves twisting your knee.

Just 6 weeks now since my right knee joint was completely replaced.

I am doing very well and only occasionally use one walking stick.

Although I can't walk long distances yet, without getting tired.

As of Wednesday I demonstrated to the Physio that I can drive again, being able to repeatedly put all my weight on my right knee and having full ankle movement and leg lift.

My recovery is quicker than average, which is not bad for an unfit chap in his late 50's.

The secret is do the exercises you are given, no matter how much it hurts, how boring it is, do it.

Pays dividends in the end.

Good luck with your condition.
