By mine, just go outside when it gets dark, you find them in the shadows mainly, under cars, on fences, in the grass, on the outside window-sill, back door step. absolutely everywhere, I suppose you could buy them aswell.

Try looking under rotting wood, where ever you get woodlice in the garden you get slugs and worms.

When it's dry you can usuall find slugs in damp places like grids and near the bottom of your gutter and in plants at night is the best place to find them.

I just lift the grids up and get enough worms and slugs to last me a good session.

I used them once on a holiday when the pond we were staying next to was so overstocked they'd take anything.

I hooked them through the tail end.

Be warned though if you collect them for a session they do leave your bait box covered in a thick nasty slime thats a job to remove.

Work very well over here for larger Roach - if you've got the stomach for it, chop up a few into the feeder along with some hemp.

What size of slug are you putting on the hook. Some of them are huge

some of them are huge

No matter how big a slug you use for chub, a chub as small as a pound can take it ! I would expect the same goes for carp.

But for chub at least, most of the time it is the bigger fish (say 3 lb plus) that go for the slugs, so they are worth using.

Dunno for sure about carp - I only use floaters.

Use an empty food carton - like an old margarine tub or large yoghurt pot - and chuck it in the bin at the end of the day.
