Banana Bait

Never tried it. How would you keep it on the hook? Fried maybe?

Perhaps hook it as you would some luncheon meat and then put it in a small PVA stocking and cast it out? I'm not sure if the banana would melt the PVA though.

To be frank it seems like an awful lot of hassle to go through! I guess you could also pole fish with it.

I have never tried it for Carp, but have used it a few times abroad while fishing for Pacu. I slice the banana up into 1cm thick discs and leave the skin on to give the bait some toughness. Then I fish it on a hair, using a baiting needle going through the skin.

Works well for Pacu with a small method feeder with mashed banana in the grounbait.

I have never tried it for Carp, it may work. However there are so many other baits to use which are a lot less trouble.

Anything is worth a go. Just try it and find out. I remember fishing for carp one day and i had a packet of dairy fudge. So i put a bit on a hair just to try and i caught a 22ib common.

Bind my wounds, And bring me a fresh horse.

I've added banana to bread paste and caught chub on it..................but like DavyR said, chub'll eat anything!

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!
