Hi all.

I need lots of help for finding a fishing lake. One thats open in the closing season. One that you don't need to purchase a fishing lisence and is under about £15 to fish per rod. And thats near Basingstoke or about half an hour away.

Thank you all so much.

Dan

No matter how old you are. You can still fish.

I'm afraid your going to be disappointed mate.

You need an EA licence to fish, even if you own the lake.

John.

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John

You will need a rod licence wherever you fish, even your own garden pond.

a licence for one day can be had for 3.50 from the EA website and as the others have said, you need one wherever you fish in this country.

there should be plenty of lakes open in your area during the close season though as commercials dont tend to close at all.

how old are you? ,you could (but probably unlikely ....mind you a fine is a fine nowadays) be procecuted for carrying your tackle never mind using it ,going equipt to fish is no difference to going equipped to burgle ,monies tight in gov circles :D

you need a licence to fish anywhere unless you shave very hard ,speak strangely and pretend your under 12

They were trying to point out that you need a licence to fish anywhere if you are 12 or over. Since you are 11 you do not need one, but proof of age would be a good idea just in case you meet a jobsworth....

Welcome to AnglersNet btw :)

errr right...

Can anyone tell me why I need a EA license to fish in my own pond?

If I've dug the pond on my own land and stuck the fish in it I'm rather inclined to tell the EA to bog off.

MC

It's a rod licence, not a fishing licence, you need one to use a fishing rod.
