UK Bass Stocks Are Collapsing

BASS are now becoming a joke with many of the UKs sea anglers that I speak to. I even hear worrying rumours about some members wanting a no bait rule to apply in bass nursery areas.

 

Is it good sport catching bass in the nursery areas .

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.


New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Catching decent sized bass from any mark is good fun. Nursery areas are not where large mature bass spawn. They are where juvenile bass thrive. The areas where mature bass spawn get hammered annually by commercials and anglers alike.

 

If a commercial fisherman was to shoot 90mil mesh gill nets in a nursery area he wouldn’t catch many undersized bass as they all swim through the meshes.

Nursery areas are a fig leaf covering DEFRAs miss management. DEFRA will put these nursery areas in place with some restrictions on anglers so they can say they are doing their bit for RSA when in fact they are giving us diddlerly.

 

The fishing at present is good, and just as it gets good bodies like BASS, SACN and the ruddy NFSA could see us so restricted we will not be abler to enjoy it.

I thought that this is where BASS are concentrating their efforts to ensure that there are bass around for all. Take them out of the equasion, what have you got left.

You've lost me there; why would a commercial shoot 90mm nets in a Bass Nursery Area?

And what would he then do with the sizeable bass he catches??????

i couldn't help but laugh at the comments made by a mr smith in the link. :lol: first bit says, brixham lands a healthy tonnage of bass anually, he follows that up with we don't have any boats targeting sea bass...... you need to tow at five knots. He mentions that any shortages could be the french and that he is certain it's not down to local fishermen.

 

What shortages are they, ain't been proved there is any....... yet.

 

We already know that the brixham boats target the breeding stock in the channel islands mr smith, and the local boats don't like it, as reported in the guernsey press. Why try to blame the french for any shortages, blimey. he's a nutter :headhurt:

 

Is he trying to hide something? :) Think he would have been better off not saying anything at all or did he wish just to get his name in any newspaper.
