BRAIDS: Summary of "Which Braids" thread

Recommended Posts

Guys 'n' Gals

If you're interested, I have summarised the "Which braids" thread HERE

with very many thanks to everyone who's contributed so far.

I for one have found folks' comments very interesting and useful. If you look at the tabulated Summary, you can see that there are def'ly Horses for Courses , faves and non-faves, especially in the cost stakes

I still reckon we're Rip-off UK

Cheers all

DG

Just done some checking of the memory banks and it was probably more than 45 years ago!!!

Many thanks, most especially for both of your mega-contributions.

P.S. If my memory serves me well, didn't they do a Special Offer of a bottle of Anglers Aftershave with it too?

Hadn't contributed so far 'cause it seems that braids are very much a personal thing. But I reckon I have tried most of the leading ones in use in the UK today.

Up until a year ago I rated Fireline as the doggies doo-dahs. But over the last year I have changed my mind! Penn's Dynabraid Tide Cutter Supreme has now got my vote. 50lbs, 0.38mm thick and £16.00 for 200m. Incredibly supple, not prone to wind knots, high abrasion resistance, easy to knot and very slick indeed for excellent casting. Love it! Doo-Dah plus!!
