(Extra special thanks to Glyn though which relates to my first mistake. In my hurry to get ready and get fishing I had managed to leave the rear interior light on for the duration which resulted in a terribly flat battery. There was not enough power to sound the horn.

So Glyns poor old little jeep finished the weekend towing/bump starting my great big pedunkle van..

Cheers mate!!)

Phew! Just beginning to surface after the Fish-In. I had intended to fish myself this weekend but I'm too knackered.

It was a shame no monster bream were caught this year, but we ought to bear in mind that 2 on each of the last 2 Fish-Ins is exceptional. Bear in mind that we had just 10 and 5 bream caught the whole of those respective seasons! Mind you, only 1 was below 15lbs!

The best thing of all about Wingham is that the best is yet to come! It's not going to reach its peak for about another 5 years. So roll on next year!

Talking of next year, I've already been asked when the next Fish-In will be. The dates are in my signature below, but in case you haven't turned the signature facility on they're Sat May 16th to Mon May 18th 2009.

I'm going to claim privilege here (topic is for reports and I was not there) and say to Steve - your annual event at Wingham is always a treat for those who can fish and for those of us who usually have to enjoy the experience second hand.

As always, thank you for hosting the weekend and special thanks to your good lady wife and your Wingham crew along with the members who pitch in. I'm afraid that we don't make it clear just how much you and your lakes are appreciated around here. Even Murph graces the area with a plentiful supply of methane whenever he visits which should be boon to some of the plant life.
