Steves right had the same problem on my canal kept going up there and feeding about 3/4 of a tin of corn per session took 4/5 days to get them to have ago but bang had 13 fish lost 4 from 8lbs to 16lbs. My canals in the west mids same area as yours I beleive.

I really didn't know that. I plead ignorance and that I haven't used them for almost two years now. Plenty of them around these parts though!

Bacon, my advice is to visit the canal a couple of times without tackle, but with a selection of food offerings. Try to feed the carp, without the pressure of having to catch them. If you can see them, you should get some ideas of what they are prepared to eat, or not. I've done this at my local carp waters and quite enjoyed the experience... all the time you're feeding the carp, you're scheming away about your next fishing trip!
